The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is the premier international awards program for student entrepreneurs. It is organized by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a global, peer-to-peer network of business owners. EO Hawaii, the statewide chapter, will host a qualifier GSEA competition on Nov. 8, 2018, at the Kahala Hotel & Resort on Oahu. Competition registration and participation are free.
The winner of the Hawaii competition will receive transportation and accommodations to participate in the national competition in Denver from Jan. 10-11, 2019. Additional prizes are valued at more than $5,000. Previous prize packages have included a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet/laptop computer; a full scholarship for an 8-week Dale Carnegie Training Course; a commercial printing and web design package from HONBLUE; and business leadership and life coaching from locally renowned experts.
The national champion will attend the GSEA Finals in Macau, China, to compete with 50 of the world’s top student entrepreneurs and have a chance to win a prize package valued at more than $40,000.
“Hawaii continues to be well represented on the national stage by our local student entrepreneurs,” said Sean Tadaki, president of EO Hawaii. “GSEA provides an ideal opportunity for EO Hawaii members and our sponsors help local student entrepreneurs receive the guidance and support they need to take their business to the next level.”
Applicants must be 30 years old or younger, enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a four-year college or university, and also be primarily responsible for the operation of a for-profit or revenue-generating business for at least six consecutive months. Apply online at www.GSEA.org/apply by 5 p.m. HST on Oct. 25, 2018. Three students will be selected to participate in the qualifier GSEA competition in November, judged by local entrepreneurs and business leaders.
