Modern life can often be hard on our bodies as well as our emotions. Sitting for long periods of time in class, at desks, on the drive home, etc. can lead to short term aches and pains as well as long term posture problems. The busyness of life and demands on our time can lead to increased feelings of stress and anxiety. While these are common difficulties of life, they can be decreased with intentional focus and practice. Join yoga teacher and physical therapist assistant, Mickel' Yust, for workshops to practice postural correction and relaxation techniques. These sessions will include gentle stretching, movement, and postural awareness activities and will integrate breathing and mindfulness techniques to help reduce physical and emotional tension.
Mickel' Yust has been involved in yoga for 10 years and currently teaches at Yoga Hawaii in Kaimuki. She works full time as a Physical Therapist Assistant and Personal Trainer at OrthoSport Physical Therapy in Niu Valley. The body, the way it works, and it's amazing ability to carry us through life has been a long-time interest for Mickel' and she thoroughly enjoys learning about ways to care for our bodies so they serve us well for years to come!
