Join others from the Chaminade community as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The parade begins at Magic Island and ends at Kapiolani Park – the Unity Rally follows at the Kapiolani Park Bandstand. If you would like to participate, please meet us at Magic Island by 8:30am. Vans will be leaving campus at 8:00am to transport a limited amount of individuals. Please wear a Chaminade shirt or a blue shirt if you choose to participate.

Sponsored by the Hawaii Martin Luther King, Jr. Coalition, the coalition is organized to promote the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday through remembrance, celebration, and action. This holiday is promoted as a day of national and community service, a time to reflect upon the principles of interracial cooperation, equality, and social change through nonviolent resolution of conflict, dedication to global peace, social justice, economic security, and the eradication of poverty as espoused by Dr. King. Efforts are made seek the involvement of business, government, labor, religious, ethnic, educational, and community service groups, as well as all segments of the civilian and military population.
